Tap the radar to discover dogs!

When you're out walking, BuddyDoggie runs in the background. When another player is nearby, you get a notification and a dog card to exchange.

How StreetPass Works

Using Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) to discover players nearby โ€” no GPS, no internet.

1

Your Phone Broadcasts

BuddyDoggie advertises a small BLE packet (~20 bytes) with your dog's anonymous ID, breed, and level โ€” no personal data.

2

Other Phones Scan

Every other BuddyDoggie nearby is also advertising and scanning. When their phone sees your packet, it flags a discovery.

3

Dog Cards Exchange

Both devices briefly connect to exchange richer dog card data โ€” name, breed, personality hints. Takes ~1-2 seconds, no internet needed.

4

See Personality & Decide

Open the app and see: "Mochi met Scout on Maple Street!" Check their personality hints, and decide if you want to say hello.

๐Ÿ”’ Privacy & Safety

StreetPass is designed to keep you anonymous:

  • Dog IDs are one-way hashed โ€” can't be reversed to your identity
  • No GPS location transmitted โ€” proximity from BLE signal strength only
  • Advertisements contain no name, email, or account data
  • Pause StreetPass anytime from settings
  • Full card exchange requires mutual discovery โ€” both devices must see each other
